In this week’s episode, SuperLutheran and Myles discuss probably the least pleasant topic in all of Christendom: damnation. What it is, what it isn’t, who it happens to, and for what reasons. We roll straight through into emails after covering the topic, so no break music this week.

This show reminds me of my criticism of “Christian pacifism” and the mantra of, “I’d rather go to heaven than my attacker go to hell”.
While maybe an admirable mindset, I find it ultimately misguided. If a man needed an extra year on earth, to hear a sermon, etc. in order to come to faith in Christ, I believe that God would have provided it. If a man finds himself in hell, it is his own sin, not the bullet in his chest, that sent him there.
Furthermore, Paul wrote that, “if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
I think we would all agree that protection from physical harm is the responsibility of a husband and father.
“But I could never kill another human being”, then don’t have a family.
Killing another person isn’t supposed to feel good, but I’d bet my last dollar that whatever you feel about killing an attacker is a heck of a lot better than allowing your family to be murdered while you were busy preaching to their attacker.
Tl;dr: sperging out over a topic that’s unrelated to this podcast
