Final note by Jon: The origin of the  epithet “one of the best kept secrets” is hard to pin down. A blurb in the 1997 Annual report attributes it to Joan Brown Campell of the National Council of Churches, whereas Lum attributes a similar quote to Regan’s AG, William French Smith.

  2. Great episode! I do seem to notice two patterns in federal involvement with dissident right groups. Sowing mistrust and chaos and “look at the dumb Nazis” spectacles.
