Recently, I was given an amazing gift by a friend from a distant land – Pine Baron is a talented man who makes custom-engraved items of all sorts!
After he sent me these coasters, as well as a custom wooden keychain, I reached out to him to see if he was able to sell these things online. Turns out, he can!
One thing I’m always happy to do with this website is put a spotlight on people doing real, tangible things – and this is definitely one of them. The coasters I received were of good quality, by my estimation – as a grug brain, I tend to measure quality by weight, and they are decently heavy – they don’t seem fragile in the slightest. I rubbed at the etching with my thumb rather vigorously, and there was no sign of wear or rubbing. While I’m sure it will happen eventually, I can’t help but be impressed by the quality of the work. The design is crisp and clear, easily legible, even the smallish text for the site slogan.
The keychain is of similar quality – the wood doesn’t feel cheap or chintzy like you might expect off of some random store on Etsy. It feels like a nice quality piece of wood, one that I’m not overly concerned will suddenly split or crack any time soon.
