Hoo Boy! It’s been a fun time in the gaming industry. From Super Earth losing the faith of it’s citizens to the inevitable rise and return to Monke, the Sweet Baby enjoyers (pun not intended but disgustingly probably true) are looking to be like stockbrokers back in 1929.

I get that this was recorded a while back, but Helldivers has had some updates recently that I think move the game towards the right direction. A lot of the weapons got some pretty large buffs, the flamethrower was fixed and improved, and so on.
They made some changes to how health works in the game, which makes the smaller units a much larger threat than before. Given that a lot of the support weapons are much more effective (like a recoilless rifle one-shotting a hulk or tank), combat is not entirely dominated by focusing on the larger enemies.
The devs talked about how they were focusing less on balance for the sake of balance, and more on just making the game fun. Does that make up for Sony and the community managers making the game take a hell-dive? You be the judge.
I am looking at it as being too little too late. They want to all of a sudden actually care about the fun of the players (while not addressing the faggotry of the community managers) right as Space Marine 2 came out. By this point, I have moved on.
