In this week’s episode, SuperLutheran and Myles discuss the Jesus Movement of the 60’s and 70’s. We talk about what it was, its lasting impact, key figures within the movement, and we touch briefly on a new film called The Jesus Revolution about the Movement. Emails as usual in the second half.

Pugnus Pastorem
Everybody knows the third mind of the Godcast should be the “slightly” autistic sound guy who bullies you whenever you bump a mic. That is the most ideal candidate.
I’d love for them to have on Jon from Little Wars since I know he’s a friend of theirs, but I don’t know what faith-related topics he’d be able to discuss with them. He certainly has just the right of autism (not as passive as Jack, but not full Mongoose-tier either.)
Myles’s vitriolic hatred for people that aren’t Christian is very surprising. Aren’t you preaching?
Honestly, if all You have is contempt for people that don’t share Your beliefs, and You claim to be trying to get converts, that is not a good attitude, IMO.
I was talking specifically about anti-Christians.
If you’re one of the adamant and unrepentant atheists he’s talking about, then a healthy amount of mockery and derision is warranted. Being a proponent of the Christian faith doesn’t mean being considerate and compromising towards other religions – quite the opposite. If your conviction means anything, then it’s only right to speak of other (false and damning) faiths as misguided at best, hostile and actively dangerous more often. Enemies of the faith always sling their stones at Christians and Christianity, but will whine and complain when they aren’t treated with respect they don’t deserve. It’s a one-sided expectation, most of the time.
I’m Christian.
I will tell You from my own personal experience that telling people that they’re a piece of shit for believing something is the worst way possible to get them to understand Your position.
I usually like Miles a lot, but if he wants people neutral or hostile to Christianity to redeem themselves, especially those You share commonalities with, like politics, is a big oof. You’re just going to alienate them.
Big oof. Yikes. Ssss, naw. That’s a yikes from me dawg. For real? Oh hun… sweety…. Mmmm no. Ouch. Big oof.
