This was a hard episode to get through. Hearing “””Pastor””” (((Roth))) gish-gallop his way out of giving a concrete answer on *anything* was infuriating. Worse still is knowing that so many so-called pastors in so many churches are still making the same non-arguments today, not because they actually believe in a ‘free spirit of discussion’ about Scripture, but because they want to destroy Scripture.

Ask not whether your pastor makes sense. Only ask whether you deserve to sit in his blessed audience.
      (and contribute more cash).
Only then can the peace return upon this land of great iniquity and wretchedness. Just as it has been prophesized in the parchment scroll that 99.5% of you have not examined, let alone read.

We will now pass the collection plate, and those of you with personal problems like divorce and substance abuse can apply for customized guidance sessions. We’ll also need volunteers and covered dishes.

I’m a europoor that needs some advice regarding helping out an orthodox church youth-group.
It’s a real struggle to get young people to get involved in a church group.
If you got any pointers or even better a kind of playbook to get things going, it would be pretty nice
The church itself is already pretty based at least because they remember that they’ve lost a pastor some years ago because he resigned after being punched during service by diversity…

Hey brother, I’m not sure how much Super actually checks the site, I think he might have his editor posting these. You can email TheGodcast@Protonmail.com to get to him directl. His site, https://verylutheran.biz/resources has some home church stuff but I didn’t see anything about Youth Groups. Hope this helps!

I confess that I am derelict in checking the comments. My apologies, Gordon’s answer is fantastic.

Plain wooden literalism is intellectually indefensible and makes the truth of scripture extraordinarily precarious. Under wooden literalism, Jesus is a liar if you can demonstrate that there are any seeds smaller than a mustard seed. You may think this a silly contention, but there are literalists who consider defending the smallness of mustard seeds a matter of existential importance for Christianity and dedicate inordinate brainpower to this folly. Understanding what is and is not figurative is a matter of wisdom, not of blanket categories.
