This week, The Godcast rolls out its new movie and anime review content: Popcorn N’ Soda. This time we’re reviewing the 2001 Dreamworks animated fairy tale classic Shrek.
Not to worry, longtime listeners, Popcorn N’ Soda will absolutely not be replacing regular Godcast content. Myles had to do some traveling for work and couldn’t record a regular episode, so we decided to premiere our extra content in place of a regular episode. Regular Godcast content resumes next week, and we hope you enjoy!

Looking forward to more of these
I think Super has the Esoteric Shreklerism a little off. Shrek is neither White, nor Jew, nor jungle savage. Shrek is a Pollock. He’s brutish, ugly, doesn’t show any regard for intellect, and his neighbors won’t stop bothering him.
Lord Farquaad (NapolHitler) has been dumping Fairy Tale Jews into Shrek’s swamp, turning it into a concentration camp. Birkenau was built in a swampy forest. C’mon, a story told by Jews where the Jewish standins aren’t helpless victims and uninvolved bystanders? A cross dressing predator in his bed and a liar with a growing nose were probably a little more on the point than Katzenberg probably intended.
As a vassal of the Aryan Farquaad, Shrek seeks to conquer libensraum (Fiona). But ends up getting his master destroyed and eaten by the Red Army Dragon. Don’t ask me how the dragon represents the Red Army and not the Iron Guard, analogy isn’t an exact science.
Donkey is just a talking donkey. A way to cash in on the most fashionable minstrel of the time and humiliate a schwartze by making him voice a donkey.
What was that one anime myles mentioned one time about a suicidal salary man getting assistance from a otherworldly loli to get his life back together.
Also what was the anime about a lesser spirit that drives people into debt / poverty and has to deal with japanese spirit buroracy to rank up or something among the lines.
I just finished with an anime he suggested called something something is listless and kinda got into weeb stuff now.
Also the weebcast > the weebnats for those who are in need of an “our guy” anime Podcast
I’m not sure which one you’re referring to first, but the second is probably Binbougami Ga! or Good Luck Girl if you’re a filthy dub-watcher. Can you give me more details on the first one? Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (Tanaka is Always Listless) was pretty comfy.
I sadly don’t have any more recollection on the first one.
I just remember a podcast episode with myles that was not the Godcast like 3 months or so ago.
There was a discussion about how miserable japanese salary men are and why there is so much anime about cute girls doing cute things, going so far as to have an anime specifically about a magical girl on suicide watch for a middle-aged office worker.
Also: invite mongoose if an anime comes up in the mix.
He is hands down always one of the best guests in any podcast he shows up.
