The New Series & Most Heard Episodes
Today’s Daily Decade, for the Feast of the Epiphany, is a special edition: a “year in review”.
For Christians, Christmas is a season of Thanksgiving, and for Catholics especially, we offer thanks to God at every Mass we assist at. I have so many people to thank for bringing back this prayercast and helping me to bring the Holy Rosary to all of you. Moreover, everyone who hears this, who takes up a Rosary, and prays with me has helped me to do the work of penance I originally intended this podcast to be. The same is true of anyone who has sent me a prayer request. I pray for all of you, and thank God for the opportunity to reach you and for you to reach me.
This hasn’t been a full year for the Daily Decade. Having hung the whole project up around this time last year, I went for almost four months without any content creation at all – indeed, as far as I was concerned, I was done, and The Daily Decade would remain a momentary reaction to the realities the COVID phenomenon had thrust into the daylight for so many of us. Nevertheless, the prayers we have said together and the reflections I have offered since returning to the air have met with a response far greater than anything I could have hoped for when I recorded my first prayers back in March of 2020. Many episodes have had more than a thousand individuals tune in, some have over 1300. That’s not quite The Golden Hour of the Shrine of the Little Flower, The Catholic Hour, or Mother Angelica Live, but, boy howdy, it’s more attention than I think I deserve for rambling into a microphone during my morning commute!
Since the team at Amerikaner.org has been gracious enough to help me bring the Rosary to their audience in the American Midwest (the land of Coughlin and Sheen!), it seemed like it might be a good idea to revisit some of the reflections and prayers that stood out to people over the past six months. I’ve presented these as a single “year in review compilation” for anyone subscribing to the RSS, but I’ve also included all five episodes separately in this post as well, in case you want to revisit them. If you’ve never listened before, this will be a good “sampler platter”.
I’ll be back this Monday, January 9, with Episode 1 of Series 11, and ask you to pray for me and everyone who tunes in or has worked to make this possible.
God love you!
