This one’s for the nerds. Today, SuperLutheran makes a philosophical argument that consciousness is an inherent property that comes out of human existence itself…and once a person starts existing, they never stop. In other words, oblivion don’t real, annihilationism is wrong, and no matter who you are you will spend eternity somewhere.
Note: for us Sola Scriptura guys, absolutely NONE of our doctrine comes from anything but the Word of God. The place of things like philosophy, “natural theology,” and historical methods is not to create doctrine or morals, but to verify what the Bible teaches. That’s what we’re up to today, because the Bible teaches the immutable immortality of every single human soul.

What I’ll be doing in 500 trillion years? Just enough time for me to finish my runescape ironman. Now whether that’s heaven or hell I’m not sure.
As a maladaptive daydreamer I have wondered your last part about where the stories we think of lay in relation to God. I don’t have a answer either of course but its definitely a hard thing to think about.
As far as my last email about the witchcraft, I do agree that if they were still doing such things I should get away, but as far as I can tell they haven’t for 10-15 years and one of them last left and the remaining one is my grandmother who needs me to live really. She does say that she has faith in the Lord when asked, though when I mentioned her behavior on something she proclaimed that “Jesus told me I didn’t have to do that,” a conversation I quickly backed out of. I’ve gotten her to go to service (LCMS) with me a few times the last few months, though I’m not sure how much she is absorbing as last week after the service she asked me if we were attending a jewish church, and have pushed her into talking with the pastor and am hoping I can get her to attend catechumen classes and be baptised. At this point I’m just hoping it all works out.
